The Saint Francis U men's basketball team concludes its 107th varsity season with a trip to Smithfield, R.I. on Saturday to take on the Bryant Bulldogs.
Bryant comes into the game in a four-way tie for second place in the Northeast Conference standings. In their most recent contest, the Bulldogs lost a tight one, 77-75, Thursday night at home against newly-minted regular season champ Robert Morris.
The Red Flash also suffered a close loss in its last time out, an 84-81 double overtime defeat to Central Connecticut.
The Bulldogs boast three players who are averaging double figure scoring averages for the season. Dyami Starks leads Bryant, scoring 17.8 points per game, which ranks him fourth in the NEC. Alex Francis sits third in the league in rebounds and bests SFU's
Earl Brown (Philadelphia, Pa./Imhotep Charter) in rebounding average by 0.3.
These two schools are still fairly new to one another, having only played five matchups prior to Saturday's game. Bryant holds a slight edge in the all-time series, 4-2, but Saint Francis is 1-1 in its two previous trips to Smithfield.
