BOX SCORE HAMDEN, Conn. (March 17, 2013) – A tough shooting night for the Saint Francis University women's basketball team made it challenging to compete with the No. 1 seeded Quinnipiac Bobcats. SFU fell in the Northeast Conference Championship game, 72-33, at the TD Bank Sports Center on Sunday evening.
Alexa Hayward (Beaver Falls, Pa./Blackhawk) scored eight points for the Red Flash (17-15, 10-8), while

Shene Fleming (Dayton, Ohio/Chaminade-Julienne) ended the scoring drought for SFU with a lay-up at the 11:17 mark. The Bobcats hit back-to-back three-pointers to take a 21-8 lead, forcing a timeout from the Flash.
The offensive woes continued for Saint Francis, they tied a season low with just 15 points in the first half and shot just 6-27 (22%) from the field.
In the second half, SFU scored 18 points and struggled to mount a comeback against the Bobcats. The 33 points were SFU's lowest total of the season.
