Bowling Goes 5-1 On Day Two of KU Invite

READING, Pa. - The Saint Francis bowling team won five of its six matches on Saturday at the KU Invitational, including a victory over the number two team in the nation, UMES. The Red Flash won their first four matches of the day before losing a thrilling match to No. 8 Vanderbilt in a contest that really wasn't decided until the last frame.

"Today the ladies rose to the occasion and found a way to execute in key moments to win matches," SFU head coach Tom Falbo said. "It was good to see that type of positive response throughout the day."

Ashley Howe led the Red Flash with a 196.83 average. Sarah Ross (Crescent, Pa./Moon Area) averaged 196.5, Shelby Derr (Sunbury, Pa./Shikellamy) averaged 192.5, Christina Leid (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata) averaged 182.83 and Lauren Johnson (Lincoln, Neb./Lincoln Southeast) averaged 178.5.

The Red Flash are now 36-15 for the season. They will finish the weekend in bracket play in the best-of-seven Baker format tomorrow.
