FULL PREGAME RELEASE (pdf)
The Red Flash plays its final non-conference game of the 2013-14 season when it hosts the NJIT Highlanders in the first-ever meeting between the two programs. Due to final exams and the holidays, SFU is playing for just the fourth time in 27 days.
Saint Francis is looking to get back on a winning track after dropping its last three games following a road victory at Cornell. Despite going 1-4 over its past five games, the Red Flash has been competitive during that span having been out-scored by more than six points in a half only twice.
NJIT, which is competing as an independent this season after the dissolution of Great West Conference, has lost six straight since a Dec. 7 home win over UMass Lowell. The Highlanders are 3-6 on the road and are 0-3 against Northeast Conference competition.
Damon Lynn leads NJIT's three double-digit scorers, tossing in 16.4 points per contest. Terrence Smith, who averages 12.8 ppg, is the team's top rebounder (5.9 rpg).
Saint Francis opens up the Northeast Conference portion of its schedule on Jan. 9 when it travels to Bryant.
