Game #14: Saint Francis at Bryant

FULL PREGAME RELEASE (pdf)

Saint Francis opens up its 2013-14 Northeast Conference campaign where the last one ended with a visit to Bryant University on Thursday.  The Red Flash ended last season with an 85-60 setback at the hands of the upstart Bulldogs.

SFU has made gains in nearly every statistical category compared to last season in interleague action, but those gains have been mitigated by frigid shooting from the field as well as the free throw line.  Even so, the Frankies enter their NEC segment with two wins compared to zero in 2012-13.

Ten days removed from its last game – a 70-68 win over Lehigh – Bryant wrapped up non-conference play with an 8-7 mark and are 5-1 at home this season.

Bryant and SFU have played two like opponents to date.  Both defeated Navy, although Bryant needed overtime to do so, but the Bulldogs edged Lehigh while the Flash suffered a 57-50 setback.

Saint Francis makes the 90 minute trek from Smithfield, R.I. to New Britain, Conn. on Saturday to play Central Connecticut.  The Red Flash was 1-1 against CCSU a season ago.
