Bryants sinks Flash with dramatic late goal

BOX SCORE SMITHFIELD, R.I. (Oct. 10, 2014) – With three seconds to play in regulation, Bryant's Katy Biagi scored the lone goal in the Bulldogs' 1-0 Northeast Conference win over Saint Francis U Friday.
 
In the decisive sequence, Bryant's  Sarah Schucker placed a near-perfect corner kick to the back post, setting Biagi for the game-winning header .
 
Prior to the dramatic end-of-game dramatics, both teams virtually tied shot-for-shot.  The Bulldogs fired 18 to SFU's 15, but both teams put seven shots on goal.
 
Red Flash senior captain Mackenzie Walter (Hollidaysburg, Pa./Hollidaysburg) took a team-high six shots, while putting a game-high four on goal.
 
SFU rookie goalkeeper Lexie Mirenda (Altoona, Pa./Altoona Area), who gave up her first goal in three starts, took the loss in a six-save effort.  Bryant's Kaylan Conrad finished with seven stops.
 
Saint Francis wraps up its two-game road swing with a visit to Sacred Heart on Sunday.
