BOX SCORE HACKENSACK, N.J. (Oct. 26, 2014) -- The Red Flash women's volleyball squad dropped a 3-1 affair to the Fairleigh Dickinson Knights Sunday afternoon.
Breanna Opera (Lancaster, N.Y./Lancaster ) continued to shine for the Red Flash leading the team in kills (16) for the second straight road game. Opera also recorded five digs. Sophomore
Sophie Murdock (Lake Orion, Mich./Lake Orion ) registered seven kills in the contest and an impressive .545 hitting percentage. Murdock had 11 total attacks.
Kayla Jeckell (Mountaintop, Pa./Crestwood) led SFU in digs with 18, while freshman
Jenna Veres (Independence, Ohio/Padua Franciscan) marked 17 digs.
The Knights jumped on the Flash early taking the first two sets, before Saint Francis could adjust to FDU style of play.
In the third set SFU returned to their form and put away Fairleigh Dickinson 25-16.
FDU won the fourth set and final set 25-16 earning their third Northeast Conference win.
The Red Flash remain in third place in the NEC standings following Sunday's loss.
Saint Francis returns to DeGol Arena Nov. 1 at 3 p.m. to faceoff against Bryant.
