Saint Francis treks to the District of Columbia Monday to take on the American University Eagles in a 7:30 p.m. contest.

Prior to the game – which will air live on Comcast SportsNet – the Eagles will raise their 2013-14 Patriot League Championship banner to the rafters in Bender Arena.

The look back to last season could also serve as motivation for the Red Flash, which was humbled by the Eagles on its home floor to the tune of 75-43 on Nov. 20, 2013.  AU guard Jesse Reed led the charge with 20 points.

The Eagles fell behind early in its season-opener at Temple Friday, but fought all the way back only to watch senior guard Darius Gardner's misfire on a potentially game-tying 3-pointer as time expired.  The Owls hung on to prevail, 40-37.

Expectations are on the rise in Loretto after a strong finish to the 2013-14 season, that included the program's first postseason victory in 18 years.  The Red Flash – which returns 100% of its scoring and 99.9% of its rebounding from last season's squad – now turns its attention to getting its first win of the year.

The Flash will welcome Keystone College to DeGol Arena Thursday for SFU's 2014-15 home opener.
