Flash Hosts Canisius on Sunday

FULL PREGAME NOTES (pdf)

LORETTO, Pa. (Nov. 29, 2014)
– One would have to date back to 1987 to find the last time Saint Francis U defeated Canisius in a women's basketball game, but the Red Flash will look to change that, along with aiming for its first win of 2014-15 on Sunday afternoon when the Golden Griffins visit Loretto at 2 p.m.

After taking powerhouse Ohio State down to the wire in the season opener on the road, SFU has suffered setbacks at home against Buffalo and East Tennessee State.

Senior Shaqeia Stokes (Cincinnati, Ohio/Winton Woods) is off to the best start in her SFU career and set new career-highs in points and rebounds against ETSU on Nov. 21. Alexa Hayward (Beaver Falls, Pa./Blackhawk) ranks eighth in the NCAA in points per game at 27.0 and is dominating the Northeast Conference in the category as the next closest competitor is at 19.7 ppg.

It won't get much easier for Saint Francis after Sunday as it heads to #4/5 Tennessee to play the Lady Volunteers on Wednesday.
