LORETTO, Pa. (Dec. 17, 2014) – Saint Francis U hits the road for its final four non-conference games, starting with a short trip to Pittsburgh to face Duquesne on Thursday evening.
Â
The Dukes hold the all-time series advantage by a margin of 27-10 and have won the past six meetings. Last season, the Red Flash hosted Duquesne on Dec. 8 and lost, 86-66.
Â
Duquesne has several common opponents with SFU on its schedule, including Pittsburgh, who they beat by 10, and West Virginia, both of which SFU plays after the Holiday break.
Â
Alexa Hayward (Beaver Falls, Pa./Blackhawk) leads the NCAA in scoring for the second consecutive week as she is averaging 26.7 points per game. She leads the next closest player, Kelsey Plum, of Washington, by a half a point.
Â
Freshman
Maya Wynn (Reisterstown, Md./McDonogh) looks to continue her strong play after putting up back-to-back double-figure scoring performances leading to an NEC Rookie of the Week honor on Dec. 15 and ECAC Rookie of the Week selection on Dec. 16.
Â
SFU travels next down to Conway, S.C. to face Coastal Carolina in a first-ever meeting between the two schools.
