LORETTO, Pa. (Dec. 20, 2014) – Following a short road trip to Duquesne to start the final leg of its non-conference schedule, Saint Francis U heads to Myrtle Beach to face Coastal Carolina in a first-ever meeting between the two schools.
SFU will play CCU in the Myrtle Beach Convention Center on Sunday evening as a part of the 'CresCom Bank Carolinas Challenge' that also includes several other contests both at the collegiate and interscholastic levels.
The Chanticleers have won seven games already in 2014-15, with three of those victories coming against Non-Division I opponents. Coastal has earned wins against DI schools IPFW, Radford, and North Carolina Central.
The Red Flash is fresh off a setback against the Dukes in Pittsburgh and will look to earn their first win prior to the short Holiday recess.
Junior guard
Aisha Brock (Jacksonville, Fla./Potter's House Christian Academy) was the lone bright spot offensively in the loss against Duquense as she scored 15 points, two shy of her season-high.
Alexa Hayward (Beaver Falls, Pa./Blackhawk), the NCAA's leading scorer, was held to just 10 points at the A.J. Palumbo Center on Thursday night.
Following the lay-off, SFU will travel to Pittsburgh and West Virginia to wrap up its non-league slate.
