Saint Francis U welcomes the University at Albany to DeGol Arena for the first time Saturday.  The 2 p.m. contest –part of a rare non-conference doubleheader ­– will serve as the backdrop for Kevin Porter Day.

Porter, a 1,766-point scorer as a guard at then-St. Francis College, will be honored in a pregame ceremony.  A vinyl banner bearing his no. 10 and the years of his attendance will be pulled down from a Velcro-wrapped piece of conduit where it will hang for eternity beside the numbers of Norm Van Lier and the great Maurice Stokes.

The ceremony, which is slated to occur 17 minutes prior to the 2:02 p.m. tipoff, should air live on NECFrontRow.com.  In the event that the webstream is not yet live, the event will be set to music and uploaded in 1080i to YouTube.com as well as NECFrontRow.com.

Porter Day, by the way, is a part of the men's basketball Alumni Weekend festivities that commenced Friday.
