LORETTO, Pa. (Feb. 16, 2014) - The Saint Francis University women's basketball team will end its longest home stand of the 2013-14 season on Monday night and it is in need of a win after suffering setbacks its past two contests against the Brooklyn schools, St. Francis and LIU.
The Red Flash welcomes Central Connecticut State who is currently fighting for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Northeast Conference. The Blue Devils come into the game in ninth place with a 9-14 overall record, including a 3-10 mark in league play.
Saint Francis fell to a tie for fourth place with its two straight losses as it now holds an 8-5 NEC record. The Red Flash took the first meeting in New Britain, Conn. on Jan. 6 (106-97) and it needed an overtime period to do so.
The Frankies have won the past two meetings between the two schools dating back to last season. SFU holds the advantage in the all-time series, 23-8.
SFU encourages fans to wear black on Monday for the 'Blackout Game'. The first 120 students will receive a free black t-shirt.
