FULL PREGAME RELEASE (pdf)
With four games remaining in the regular season, Saint Francis U welcomes St. Francis Brooklyn to open its final home stand – and this time around the stakes couldn't be much higher.
The Red Flash and Terriers enter with identical 6-6 marks in Northeast Conference play and are tied for fifth place in the standings. However, St. Francis Brooklyn currently holds a head-to-head tiebreaker due its 78-52 trouncing of the Frankies on Feb. 6.
SFU is 6-0 against the four teams behind it in the league playoff picture, but will have to translate that success into wins against the top half of the league – beginning with Thursday's critical showdown in Loretto – if it hopes to push for the right to host a postseason game for the first time in 20 years.
Over the final two weeks of the season, the Frankies play three teams that reside directly above it in the race for the postseason. The lone exception is Saturday's Senior Day opponent, LIU Brooklyn.
All fans are asked to wear red to Thursday's game. Tipoff is slated for 7 p.m.
