Game #28: Saint Francis at Wagner

FULL PREGAME RELEASE (pdf)

The Red Flash hits the road to close out the regular season, first with a trip to Wagner on Thursday night.

The Seahawks have won their past six contests and are in position to clinch the no. 2 seed in the upcoming Northeast Conference tournament.  Wagner, which is 7-2 at the Spiro Sports Center this season, hasn't lost to SFU at home since the 2005-06 campaign.

In their first meeting, an untimely SFU shooting slump allowed Wagner to slip past the Red Flash, 56-50.  The Frankies led for the first 23 minutes of action before going cold to start the second half.  Saint Francis led by as many as 13 points in the first half and held on to take a 29-28 edge into the intermission.

SFU is 7-0 against the four teams behind it in the league playoff picture, but will have to translate that success into wins against the top half of the league if it hopes to improve in the standings.

Currently the NEC's sixth seed, the Frankies play teams that reside above it in the standings in its final two games.

Saint Francis closes out the regular season on Saturday with a visit to Mount St. Mary's.
