SFU Places Fourth at Red Flash Invitational

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (April 15, 2014)
– The Saint Francis University women's golf team placed fourth at the Red Flash Invitational, which was held at Sunnehanna Country Club.
 
Originally scheduled for three rounds, weather shortened the tournament to just two rounds, which were both played on Monday. SFU carded a two-round score of 631 (313-318). Lehigh won the team title with a 614 (311-303). This was the first tournament Saint Francis has hosted since the 2010-11 season.
 
Mallory Cortis (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg Area) and Ann Colligan (Kittanning, Pa./Kittanning) each shot a 155 (76-79) to tie for seventh place overall to lead the Red Flash.
 
Reigning NEC Golfer of the Week, Taylar Jaramillo (Belen, N.M./Belen) finished tied for 10th overall as the sophomore shot a 156 (79-77).
 
Haley Borkovich (Harrison City, Pa./Penn Trafford) finished fourth for SFU and 22nd overall as she shot a 165 (82-83). Patricia Klein (Easton, Pa./Easton Area) posted a 175 (89-86) to place tied for 32nd overall.
 
Saint Francis also had a second team compete in the home invitational, which placed seventh. Erica DeVal (Arnold, Md./Broadneck) led that squad with a 164 (82-82), good for a 20th overall finish.
 
The Red Flash will travel to Daytona Beach, Fla. for the Northeast Conference Championship on April 25-27.
