Sluggish start stymies Flash at Wright State

BOX SCORE DAYTON, Ohio (Sept. 5, 2014) – The Saint Francis U women's soccer team snapped its early-season scoring drought, but it wasn't enough to knock off Wright State on the road Friday evening.  The Raiders won by a 2-1 count.

The short-handed Red Flash struggled out of the gate, falling behind 2-0 in the first half.

Addie Engleheart opened the scoring in the ninth minute and Ashley Miltko tacked on the eventual game-winner in the 39th minute.

Saint Francis got on the board five minutes into the second half when Casey Gallaher (Sidman, Pa./Forest Hills) registered her first marker of the season.

While the Flash defense was able to post a second half shutout, the offense was unable to find the equalizer.  The Raiders put six shots on goal to SFU's four.

Rookie Frankies' goalkeeper Romina Kunze (Frankfurt, Germany/Carl-von-Weinberg-Schule) finished with four saves.

Saint Francis is back in action Sunday when it visits Cincinnati.
