Women’s Hoops Hosts Sacred Heart on Saturday

FULL PREGAME NOTES (pdf)

LORETTO, Pa. (Jan. 16, 2015)
– For the second time in a week, Saint Francis U will face Sacred Heart, this time the match-up will take place inside DeGol Arena.

The Red Flash has struggled in the regular season on the road against the Pioneers, but has won the past two meetings in Sweet Loretto.

Last season's NEC Quarterfinal provided the second highest scoring game in NCAA women's basketball history and SFU came away on top, 132-124, in double-overtime.

This past Saturday in Fairfield, the Red Flash came back from being down 15 midway through the second half and held a lead late in the game, but didn't close it out.

Sacred Heart is tied for fourth in the Northeast Conference with a 2-2 NEC record, while SFU is tied for eighth at 1-3.

Alexa Hayward (Beaver Falls, Pa./Blackhawk) put together a very solid weekend of NEC play scoring 30 and 25 points against SHU and Bryant. Aisha Brock (Jacksonville, Fla./Potter's House Christian Academy) has now scored double-figures in each conference game this season.

The Red Flash welcomes St. Francis Brooklyn on Monday night for a 7 p.m. contest. The Terriers took both meetings last season and are off to a 1-3 start in league games.
