Flash to Face Fairleigh Dickinson Saturday at 4 p.m.

Saturday's doubleheader is Sideline Cancer Day
The Saint Francis Red Flash moved to 7-1 at DeGol Arena with its 75-68 victory over Bryant on Thursday night. The Flash returns to action on Saturday afternoon against Farileigh Dickinson. Tip is set for 4:00 p.m.

Four Red Flash players scored in double figures for the Flash in its win over Bryant. Senior Earl Brown (Philadelphia, Pa./Imhotep Charter) led the way with 19 points with Malik Harmon (Queens, N.Y./Christ the King) scoring 12. Greg Brown (Odenton, Md./Archbishop Spalding) and Ollie Jackson (Dallas, Texas/Pinkston ) each had 10 points.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW
1. The Red Flash has won three straight games and seven of eight against Fairleigh Dickinson. The lone loss in that stretch came in overtime two seasons ago.

2. Fairleigh Dickinson's last win in Loretto came during the 2007-08 season. SFU has won six straight at home in the series.

3. The Red Flash's 56.3 percent shooting against Bryant was the third best for the team this season and was the top mark in conference play.

SIDELINE CANCER
Saturday's women's and men's doubleheader is the first Sideline Cancer game for the basketball programs. The women's volleyball team held one in the fall, and it's supported by the Griffith Family Foundation. Sideline Cancer and the Griffith Family Foundation has local ties to the area as its founder Cathy Griffith lives in Hollidaysburg. Cathy lost her 50-year old husband to pancreatic cancer in 2012. For more information on the organization, visit http://griffithfamilyfoundation.org/sidelinecancer.  Friends and family members can show their support of the team, by making a tax-deductible donation at http://sidelinecancer.com/support. Donations go to the Alliance of Families Fighting Pancreatic Cancer http://affpc.org.

CHAINING THE BULLDOGS
The Red Flash shut down Bryant from the field, limiting the Bulldogs to just 33.3 percent from the field. That's the lowest mark for the Flash defense against a Div. 1 opponent this season (Keystone - 32.9). Bryant did make 21 of 24 free throws to stay in the game.

WHAT BROWN(S) CAN DO FOR THE FLASH
Senior Earl Brown (Philadelphia, Pa./Imhotep Charter) entered Thursday's game with the NEC lead in field goal percentage at 52.4 percent. He improved on that number with a 6-for-9 showing against the Bulldogs, including 3-for-3 from beyond the arc. It's the first time in Brown's career that he's made three three pointers in a game. In fact, that single game output matched his total amount of three-point makes from his first three seasons combined. All three of those came last year.

Junior Greg Brown (Odenton, Md./Archbishop Spalding) recorded 10 points, five rebounds and three assists against Bryant. That's the first time he's reached those numbers in the same game this season since the win over Keystone in November. Thursday marked his first double-digit scoring effort in four games. He scored 14 points with six rebounds in the last second win against Sacred Heart on Jan. 16.

FAST BREAKING IT DOWN
The Red Flash dominated the fast break points against Bryant, beating the Bulldogs 17-0 in that category. The Flash scored 12 of those fast break points in the first half as it took a 37-35 lead at halftime.

THOMPSON SETS CAREER HIGH
Freshman forward Basil Thompson (Philadelphia, Pa./Imhotep Charter) scored a career high nine points against Bryant while tying his career high with four rebounds. He scored eight of his nine points in 13 first-half minutes. His previous season/career high was six points, set last week at Wagner. Said head coach Rob Krimmel of Thompson, "The last seven to 10 days have been his best on campus to this point."

FINDING ITS MARK
When Dominique Major (Woodbridge, Va./Forest Park) made a three pointer with 1:52 to play to give the Flash a 69-63 lead, it not only looked like the dagger in the game, but it had some statistical significance. It was the eighth three pointer the Flash had made in the game. Including last night's victory, SFU is now 8-1 in games in which it makes at least eight three pointers. The Flash hadn't made eight three pointers in any of its previous three games - all defeats.

SURPASSING LAST SEASON'S WIN TOTAL
The Red Flash won its 11th game of the season last night, surpassing the win total from last season. The 11th win gives the Flash its first season with that many wins since 2009-10. The Flash went 11-19 that season. SFU is in search of its first winning season since 2004-05 (15-13 overall, 10-8 NEC).

TIP-INS
-The Red Flash moved to 10-1 in games in which it scores at least 60 points. The Flash also has the same record in games that it leads at halftime.

-The win over Bryant was the second in five tries in Loretto. The other came during the 2011-12 season.

-Ollie Jackson (Dallas, Texas/Pinkston ) surpassed the 700-point mark in the win over Bryant. He now has 709.
