ABOUT THE RED FLASH

Saint Francis was picked eighth in the NEC coaches' poll released at NEC Media Day. The Red Flash started the 2015-16 campaign with an impressive 90-71 victory over the number six team in Canada, the Ryerson Rams.  The Flash put four players in double figures, lead by freshman Jessica Kovatch (Phillipsburg, N.J./Phillipsburg)'s 24 points and Maya Wynn (Reisterstown, Md./McDonogh)'s 20.  Saint Francis forced 27 turnovers including 15 steals, led by Samiah Bethel (Jacksonville, Fla./Potter's House Christian Academy)'s five and led by as many as 31 in the third quarter.

Saint Francis will have a brand new look in the 2015-16 season as returners Aisha Brock (Jacksonville, Fla./Potter's House Christian Academy) and Maya Wynn (Reisterstown, Md./McDonogh) started more than 10 games last season.  Against Ryerson, the Flash starting five featured three players who didn't play a minute for the Flash last season.

ABOUT THE BEARCATS
The Bearcats were picked 10th in the American Athletic Conference pre-season coaches' poll and are coming off an 8-23 season. UC returns their top two leading scorers in Jasmine Whitfield and Bianca Quisenberry. Whitfield had a game-high 21 in their exhibition win over Southern Indiana. Alyesha Lovett returns to the team after missing all of last year with an injury, Lovett averaged nearly 11 points per game in 2013-14.

SAME FACE/DIFFERENT PLACE

Shaqeia Stokes (Cincinnati, Ohio/Winton Woods) played four seasons for the Red Flash and was granted a fifth-year of eligibility by the NCAA. Stokes is using that fifth year to pursue a graduate degree at her hometown University of Cincinnati. Stokes averaged 5.3 points and 4.3 rebounds as a senior with the Red Flash last season in 25 games last season, including 16 starts.

SERIES HISTORY

The Bearcats own a 4-0 series lead over the Red Flash, but the two teams have not met since 2008, a 75-65 Bearcat victory in the Queen City.

LOOKING AHEAD
