Women's Basketball Wraps up Road Swing At Cornell

ITHACA, N.Y.- The Red Flash women's basketball team wraps up a five-game in 10-day stretch and a two-game road trip tonight in Ithaca when they take on the Cornell Big Red in Newman Arena at 6p.m..

ABOUT THE FLASH 
Saint Francis will look to pick up their first road victory on the young season after dropping games at Cincinnati and Canisius. SFU comes into the contest at 1-3 after a 77-52 loss in Buffalo against Canisius on Saturday. Jessica Kovatch (Phillipsburg, N.J./Phillipsburg) bested her own school record for freshman with 32 points in the loss but the team was limited to just 26 percent shooting. Kovatch is averaging 23 points per game in her young Red Flash career. Katie Reese (Boonton Township, N.J./Mountain Lakes) had seven assists on Saturday while Brielle Ward (Baltimore, Md./Western (Hampton U)) grabbed six boards to lead the team. 

ABOUT THE BIG RED
Cornell comes into the game at 2-1 on the season, riding two-straight wins over Bryant and Colgate. They have two strong post players in Nia Marshall and Nicole Aston, who are each shooting at least 50 percent from the field. As a team, the Big Red has been highly efficient, shooting 44 percent as a team. Marshall has averaged nearly 18 points per game, while Aston averages 13. Cornell also has taken care of the basketball, turning it over just 13 times per game. 

MATCHUP HISTORY
This is the first meeting between the teams since 2003, an 86-47 Red Flash victory. Overall, Cornell leads the series 3-2 with the Flash winning the previous two match-ups. 

FOLLOW ALONG
The game will be broadcated on 1400WWGE with Curt Lowe on the call and the pre-game show starts at 5:45. The Ivy League Network will provide free live video for the game as well. 

LOOKING AHEAD
Saint Francis will take the rest of the Thanksgiving week off before traveling on Monday for New York City. The Red Flash take on their second consecutive Ivy League team on Tuesday, December 1st with a noon tip-off at Columbia.
