Flash Returns Home to Play CCSU Thursday

LORETTO, Pa. - The Saint Francis men's basketball team returns home  to face Central Connecticut for the first time this season on Thursday night at 7:00 p.m.

The Red Flash defeated the Blue Devils twice last season and will look for its first three-game winning streak against CCSU since 1996-98.

The Flash had its three-game winning streak snapped at LIU Brooklyn on Saturday, 66-60. Earl Brown (Philadelphia, Pa./Imhotep Charter) and Dominique Major (Woodbridge, Va./Forest Park) each scored 12 points to lead SFU.

 THREE THINGS TO KNOW
  • LIU Brooklyn led Saturday's contest for just 4:27. The Blackbirds led, 2-0, and then did not lead again until 5:13 remained.
  • SFU's 11 made three pointers at LIU Brooklyn were the most for the team since making 13 at Wagner in the NEC opener.
  • The loss for the Flash was just the second this season when leading at halftime.

DOUBLE (-DOUBLE) TROUBLE
  • Senior forward Earl Brown (Philadelphia, Pa./Imhotep Charter) recorded his third consecutive double-double and fourth in his previous five games with his 12 points and 10 rebounds at LIU Brooklyn on Saturday. Brown is now averaging 15.3 points and 7.5 rebounds per game for the season.

DRINNON BACK IN ACTION
  • Junior forward Ronnie Drinnon (Jamestown, Ohio/Greenview) was sidelined with an injury for three games but came back to score eight points at LIU Brooklyn. Drinnon is averaging 8.3 points and 7.5 rebounds per game.

THREE POINT BARRAGE
  • The Red Flash made seven three pointers in the first half of its game at LIU Brooklyn. That's one more than the Flash made in either of its wins against Fairleigh Dickinson. The Flash finished with 11 made three pointers, the most for the team since its NEC-opening win against Wagner in early January. The 11 three pointers are the most for the Flash in a game it lost this season. SFU is now 8-2 in games where it makes at least eight three pointers.

THAT WAS UNUSUAL
  • The Red Flash had several statistical categories go its way against LIU Brooklyn on Saturday, but the final score wasn't one of them. The Flash fell to 12-2 in games where it leads at halftime. The other came in the buzzer-beater loss against St. Francis Brooklyn. The Flash also lost for just the second time when it reaches the 60-point plateau. The other came in a 77-65 loss at NJIT in late December.

TIP-INS
  • The Flash is shooting 70.4 percent from the free throw line over its past four games. That included a 22-for-29 performance against Fairleigh Dickinson in Loretto a couple weeks ago. SFU was 7-for-9 at LIU Brooklyn on Saturday.
  • The Flash has assisted on at least 50 percent of its baskets in each of the last three games. That included 15 assists on 21 field goals in the loss at LIU Brooklyn.
