LORETTO, Pa. (Feb. 14, 2015)
– Four players reached double-figures as Saint Francis U picked up a much needed win over LIU Brooklyn on Senior Day, 87-75, in snowy Loretto on Saturday night.

The Red Flash also held its eighth annual 'Think Pink Game' in addition to Senior Day. Saint Francis shot a season-high 49% (32-of-65) from the field and it was largely in part to Alexa Hayward (Beaver Falls, Pa./Blackhawk)'s 25-point effort to go along with eight assists. Aisha Brock (Jacksonville, Fla./Potter's House Christian Academy) dropped 19 points and dished out six assists of her own.

Maya Wynn (Reisterstown, Md./McDonogh) tied a career-high with 15 points, while Corissa Archer (Clermont, Fla./East Ridge) rounded out the players in double-digits for the Flash with 13. The Flash used 43 second-half points to secure the victory.

"We did a great job finishing the game tonight. It is wonderful to see a smile on the face of our four seniors," said SFU head coach Joe Haigh.

The Blackbirds held the advantage for the majority of the first-half and they led by seven with about eight minutes into the contest at 19-12. The Flash narrowed the margin to four after a triple from Wynn, but LIU stretched their lead all the way to 12 fairly quickly.

The Flash used a 16-5 run over the latter portion of the first half and took a one-point lead with less than two minutes to play. They extended that lead to three at halftime and held the 44-41 advantage at the break.

SFU's lead continued to get larger as things started rolling for them in the second half. Hayward's free throw gave the Flash the 52-42 lead with 16:50 to play, she was a perfect 7-of-7 from the charity stripe in the game.

The largest lead of the game of 14 came from Saint Francis at the 9:59 mark of the second half after another triple from Wynn. The Flash only led the lead slip into single-figures twice more for the remainder of the game. Cydney Smith (Port Tobacco, Md./St. Mary's Ryken) buried a shot as time expired as everything continued to go right for SFU.

Smith finished with seven points and four rebounds off the bench for the Flash. Hope Phillips (Marlton, N.J./Bishop Eustace Prep) put together an eight point, six rebound game in her senior day. Shaqeia Stokes (Cincinnati, Ohio/Winton Woods) also scored two points and grabbed four rebounds for SFU.

Saint Francis will host Northeast Conference leader Central Connecticut State (15-9, 11-2 NEC) on Monday evening, tip-off is slated for 7 p.m. It will be the first of two meetings within a week as the Flash travel to New Britain to play the Blue Devils next Monday.
