SFU Hosts NEC Leader CCSU on Monday

FULL PREGAME NOTES (pdf)

LORETTO, Pa. (Feb. 15, 2015)
– Following a big victory over LIU Brooklyn on Saturday afternoon, Saint Francis U will host Northeast Conference leader Central Connecticut on Monday night.

The Red Flash got a much needed win on its senior day where they honored Corissa Archer (Clermont, Fla./East Ridge), Alexa Hayward (Beaver Falls, Pa./Blackhawk), Hope Phillips (Marlton, N.J./Bishop Eustace Prep), and Shaqeia Stokes (Cincinnati, Ohio/Winton Woods).

Still vying for one of the final NEC Tournament spots, SFU will have to be at its best to beat a Blue Devils team that has only lost twice in league play.

CCSU shoots the ball well and plays tough defense and will look to slow the Flash down inside DeGol Arena.

The Red Flash is 24-8 all-time against the Blue Devils, which includes a 14-3 mark in Loretto. Saint Francis has won the past three meetings.

SFU received 25 points from Hayward on Saturday as she was one of four SFU players to reach double-figures. Maya Wynn (Reisterstown, Md./McDonogh) tied a career-high as she scored 15.

Saint Francis will hit the road to play St. Francis Brooklyn and Central Connecticut again in New Britain next Monday.
