Flash Hosts The Mount in Crucial Contest

LORETTO, Pa. - The Saint Francis Red Flash will play its final home game of the regular season on Thursday night when it faces Mount St. Mary's in a critical NEC affair. The game is scheduled for 7 p.m.

The Flash currently sits in a three-way tie for fifth place with LIU Brooklyn and Wagner. Mount St. Mary's is in a three-way tie with Robert Morris and Bryant for second place. A win for the Flash on Thursday will keep alive the team's chances to host a first-round NEC playoff game next week.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW
  • The Mount has won nine consecutive games in the series. The Flash last won in Dec. 2009 in a 73-66 in Loretto.
  • Greg Brown (Odenton, Md./Archbishop Spalding) scored a season-high 15 points in Saturday's loss at St. Francis Brooklyn.
  • In the Flash's last 10 regulation games, SFU has allowed just 61.4 points per game, lowering the Flash's season average to 64.1, the best mark in the NEC.

BROWN WITH 1,250 POINTS AND 750 REBOUNDS
  • Senior forward Earl Brown (Philadelphia, Pa./Imhotep Charter) reached yet another career milestone last week when he eclipsed 750 rebounds in his career. With 1,276 points and 752 rebounds, Brown is in some elite company historically speaking in the NEC.  He is one of just 24 players in NEC history to amass 1,250 points and 750 rebounds in a career. Brown is currently fifth in the NEC in scoring (15.2), fourth in rebounding (7.7) and third in field goal percentage (.541).

NON-LOSING MONTHS
  • With wins in the Flash's final two games, Saint Francis would have at least a .500 record in each month during the 2014-15 season. The Flash last accomplished this feat during the 2004-05 season. SFU won three games in the month of November for only the second time in program history. The first was 1997-98 (3-1). The Flash finished 17-10 that year.

SECOND FEWEST TURNOVERS IN NEC
  • The Flash is second in the conference in fewest turnovers, averaging just 12.4 per game. Bryant leads the NEC with 11.7 turnovers per game. The Flash is also third in the league with a 0.99 assists-to-turnover ratio.

NO FOUL BALL
  • Saint Francis is the top team in the league in scoring defense, and they are doing it without fouling. The Flash is second in the NEC and is 41st in the nation in fewest fouls. Saint Francis has committed just 433 fouls in 27 games, a 16 fouls per game average.

WINNING REGULAR SEASON WITH NEXT VICTORY
  • The Red Flash's next win will give the team its first winning regular season in 10 years. The 2004-05 Saint Francis team finished 15-13 and 10-8 in conference play. Saint Francis will need wins in its final two conference games to clinch a winning NEC record. The 2004-05 season was also the last winning NEC record for the team.

THURSDAY HONOREES
  • Saint Francis will honor longtime athletics facilities manager Pat Pfeilstucker. He has dedicated 30 years to Saint Francis athletics as he approaches his retirement this spring. During the second half, Saint Francis running back Khairi Dickson will be honored for being the NCAA Statistical Champion for rushing yards per game. Dickson led the FCS with 155.3 yards per game.
