MOON TWP., Pa. - The Saint Francis Red Flash concludes the regular season on Saturday afternoon when it heads to Robert Morris to face the Colonials. The game is scheduled for a 4 p.m. start.
The Flash currently sits in fifth place in the NEC and is looking at a road game to open the NEC tournament next week. A win for the Flash against the Colonials would give SFU sole possession of fifth place.
Robert Morris is tied second with Bryant with an 11-6 NEC record. The Colonials breezed past Wagner, 91-59, last night to keep pace with the Bulldogs.
THREE THINGS TO KNOW- The Flash clinched its first winning regular season since 2004-05 with its victory over The Mount last night.
- Saint Francis finished the season with a 10-2 home record, the team's best mark at DeGol Arena since the 04-05 campaign.
- Ronnie Drinnon (Jamestown, Ohio/Greenview) tied his career high with six assists against the Mount.
CLIMBING THE MOUNT-AIN- The Flash broke a nine-game losing streak to The Mount with its win on Thursday night. It had been more than five years since SFU defeated the Mountaineers. The Flash last defeated the Mount on Dec. 5, 2009, at DeGol Arena.
LOOKING FOR A SWEEP OVER ROBERT MORRIS- The Flash snapped a 14-game losing streak to Robert Morris with its win over the Colonials in January. A win over the Colonials on Saturday would give the Flash its first season sweep over the Colonials since the 2000-01 season. The Flash is 6-23 against Robert Morris since that season sweep 14 years ago.
BROWN INTO 17TH PLACE ALL-TIME- Senior forward Earl Brown (Philadelphia, Pa./Imhotep Charter) passed current assistant coach Eric Taylor on the school's all-time scoring list with his 16 points against The Mount. Brown's 1,292 points have him tied for 17th place with John Hilvert (1987-91). He's just a single point behind Larry Lewis (1966-69) for 16th place.
NON-LOSING MONTHS- With a win Saturday, Saint Francis would have at least a .500 record in each month during the 2014-15 season. The Flash last accomplished this feat during the 2004-05 season. SFU won three games in the month of November for only the second time in program history. The first was 1997-98 (3-1). The Flash finished 17-10 that year.
