SFU Makes First of Two Trips to Brooklyn

FULL PREGAME NOTES (pdf)

LORETTO, Pa. (Feb. 6, 2015)
– As the midway point of the conference schedule has past us by, Saint Francis U will make one of its final road trips and look for two wins at LIU Brooklyn and Fairleigh Dickinson.

First, SFU will head to Brooklyn to face LIU in the first of two upcoming meetings between the two schools.

The Red Flash has a dominant advantage in the all-time series at 42-16, but one of the two meetings in 2013-14 went to the Blackbirds.

SFU was locked in a battle with one of the league's best teams in Bryant. The Flash had a chance to win on the final possession, but came up just short, and lost 73-71.

Alexa Hayward (Beaver Falls, Pa./Blackhawk) scored 30 points against Bryant after going 5-of-7 from downtown. She had now reached 30 points in a game six different times this season. Hayward was also named to the Capital One Academic All-District team, marking the third straight season a Red Flash women's basketball player has been represented.

Shaqeia Stokes (Cincinnati, Ohio/Winton Woods) came back on Monday night after missing four games with an injury. The senior forward scored five points to go along with five rebounds off the bench for SFU.

The Red Flash wraps up the road trip at FDU on Monday evening at 7 p.m. The Knights bested the Flash in Loretto on Jan. 31, 78-65.
