Lorenzo Jerome (Sunrise, Fla./J.P. Taravella) had 11 tackles in the loss. The Red Flash are now 1-2, while the Penguins improved to 2-1.
The Penguins held SFU to 87 total yards and seven first downs. Sophomore running back
Marcus Bagley (Cleveland Heights, Ohio/Cleveland Heights) led the Saint Francis offense with 66 yards on 24 carries. Quarterback
Zack Drayer (Hershey, Pa./Hershey ) completed 1-of-12 passes for 10 yards.
Jerome led the defense with 11 stops, including seven solo. Linebacker
Sean Orsini (Imperial, Pa./West Allegheny) made seven tackles, with four solo, while safety
Delondo Boyd (Indian Head, Md./Henry E. Lackey) and linebacker
Semo Sila (Honolulu, Hawaii /Farrington) each had six stops.
Wesley Nagaseu (Waipahu, Hawaii/Waipahu) had a tackle for loss.
Saint Francis got on the board in the 4th quarter on a 42-yard field goal by Geesey. That completed a drive in which Bagley had 34 yards rushing.
The field goal was the 32nd make of Geesey's career, extending his program-record. It was also the 10th of Geesey's career from 40 yards or more.
Youngstown State held a 38-0 lead at halftime. Junior running back Jody Webb had touchdown runs of 20 and 22 yards, while fullback Shane Khun scored on rushes of one yard and six yards. Running back Martin Ruiz added an 11-yard touchdown reception off of a screen play. Kicker Zak Kennedy hit a 22-yard field goal to get the Penguins on the board in the first quarter.
The Penguins added another 22-yard field goal and a 4-yard rushing touchdown in the second half.
YSU held the Saint Francis offense to 43 yards and three first downs in the first half. Bagley had 24 yards on six carries and
Zack Drayer (Hershey, Pa./Hershey ) had a 16-yard run on a fake punt.
Jerome made seven tackles in the first half, including five solo and added 77 yards on three kick returns, including a 51-yard return.
