LORETTO, Pa. – The Saint Francis football team earned a 38-3 win over Bryant in an impressive performance at DeGol Field on Saturday. The Red Flash never trailed in the game and used 24 unanswered points to pull away in the second half. Saint Francis improved to 4-3 overall and 2-0 in the NEC, while Bryant dropped to 2-4 overall and 1-1 in conference play.

The Saint Francis offense totaled 325 yards on the day, including 230 passing and 95 rushing.Â

Senior quarterback
Zack Drayer (Hershey, Pa./Hershey ) completed 19-of-31 passes for 197 yards and two touchdowns. He added a 33-yard catch. Drayer is now in sole possession of third place all-time at SFU in passing touchdowns. With 42 career touchdowns, he broke a tie with Kevin Magee (1991-93) and pulled within three touchdown passes of second all-time, held by John Kelly (2009-12).Â

Kamron Lewis (Fresno, Calif./Edison) caught 10 passes for 129 yards, including a 24-yard touchdown catch. Lewis topped the 100-yard receiving mark for the third time this season and matched a career-high with 10 receptions. Senior

Jordan Millberry (Harrisburg, Pa./Susquehanna Township) had two catches for 31 yards. Tight end

Marcus Bagley (Cleveland Heights, Ohio/Cleveland Heights) ran for 46 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries and added an eight-yard catch. Junior

Lorenzo Jerome (Sunrise, Fla./J.P. Taravella) saw a few more snaps on offense this week after his touchdown reception at Robert Morris. This week, Jerome completed a 33-yard catch to Drayer and added a one-yard run.

The Red Flash defense had another outstanding performance, holding its fifth straight opponent to 20 or less points. For the second straight week, SFU did not give up an offensive touchdown and held a third straight opponent to 10 or less points.

Saint Francis held Bryant to 158 total yards, including 167 passing. The Red Flash swallowed up the Bryant run game all day, holding the Bulldogs to -9 yards. The last two weeks, SFU has allowed -2 total rushing yards. Saint Francis recorded four sacks and two interceptions. SFU has four or more sacks in six straight games and at least one interception in every game.Â

Jalen Wells (Westerville, Ohio/Thomas Worthington) and senior linebacker
Solomon Leaeno (Kapolei, Hawaii/James Campbell) tied for the SFU-lead with eight tackles each. Wells added two pass breakups and his first career interception, which he returned 40 yards for a touchdown. Leaeno recorded two tackles for loss, a sack and a pass breakup. Jerome had four stops and sophomore linebacker

The Red Flash got on the board on a one-yard touchdown run by Bagley with 9:22 left in the first quarter. The SFU drive started after a fumble recovery by Nagaseu at the SFU 44. Bryant tried to run a reverse, but when they pitched it back, the ball came loose and Nagaseu recovered. On the third play of the drive, Drayer hit Lewis for a 24-yard gain to setup SFU inside the Bryant 8. On 3rd and Goal, Nagaseu lined up at fullback. Drayer faked a handoff to Nagaseu and pitched it to Bagley, who had plenty of room to get into the end zone.Â
Lance Geesey (Harrisburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley)'s extra point gave SFU a 7-0 lead.

Saint Francis added another rushing touchdown in the second quarter. This time, Nagaseu did get the handoff and bulled through the pile for a one-yard score. It was Nagaseu's second rushing touchdown of his career, he also had one at East Tennessee State last year. The drive started after Stewart picked off a pass over the middle and returned it to the Bryant 26. Lewis caught two passes for 14 yards to help SFU get to First and Goal at the 5. Three plays later, Nagaseu found his way into the end zone with 4:48 left in the first half.

Bryant cut the Red Flash lead to 11 points with 8:29 left in the third quarter. Ricky Perez hit a 32-yard field goal. Dalton Easton connected with Keenan Thompson for a 46-yard gain to help setup the field goal.

From there, it was all Saint Francis as the Red Flash scored 24 unanswered points in the second half.

Drayer hit Lewis for a 24-yard score with 3:36 to go in the third quarter. The touchdown capped a nine-play, 61-yard drive covering 4:50. On third down, Drayer threw to Lewis in the right corner of the end zone. Lewis secured the catch and got his feet down in bounds to complete the catch. Lewis caught another 24-yard pass earlier in the drive and Jordan-Toney added a 12-yard run to help setup the touchdown. Geesey's extra point gave SFU a 21-3 advantage.

The Red Flash added another score on a four-yard touchdown pass from Drayer to Alston with 10:03 left in the game. On first and goal from the 4, Drayer rolled out to his left and found Alston in the back corner of the end zone. Drayer hit Millberry for a 27-yard gain earlier in the drive. On the next play after Millberry catch, Jerome took a handoff on a jet sweep and then the former high school quarterback threw back to a wide-open Drayer for a 33-yard catch down to the 4. With another extra point from Geesey, Saint Francis led 28-3.

Saint Francis tallied three more points on a 33-yard field goal with 5:37 left in the fourth quarter. After a four-and-out by Bryant, SFU took over at the Bryant 32. Drayer had a seven-yard run earlier on the drive, while Jordan-Toney added a six-yard rush. After Geesey's kick, SFU led 31-3.

The Red Flash capped off the win on a 40-yard interception return by
Jalen Wells (Westerville, Ohio/Thomas Worthington). On third and 10 at the Bryant 34, Easton threw a pass over the middle towards the left hash mark. Wells cut in front of the receiver to pick it off and had a clear path to the end zone. That was Wells' first career interception.

The win sets up another big game next week, when the Red Flash hosts Duquesne next Friday, October 21, on Homecoming Weekend. The re-match of last year's NEC championship game will be broadcast on ESPN3.
