Zack Drayer (Hershey, Pa./Hershey ) accounted for four touchdowns to help the Saint Francis football team claim its first ever Northeast Conference Regular Season title. The Red Flash earned a 31-21 win over Central Connecticut State on Senior Day at DeGol Field to improve to 7-3 overall and 5-0 in the NEC.

With the win, Saint Francis, led by Head Coach
Chris Villarrial, clinched at least a share of the NEC Regular Season title, and because of its win over Duquesne, an automatic bid to the FCS Playoffs.Â

It marks the first time in program history that the Red Flash has won a Northeast Conference title and it's also the first FCS Playoff berth in program history.

The Red Flash, who joined the NEC in 1996, is 5-0 in NEC play for the first time in school history, won its sixth straight game and finished 4-0 at home in 2016. SFU is 9-0 at home the last two seasons.

On a day where Saint Francis honored 20 seniors from a class that has accounted for a school-record tying 24 wins over their four years, senior quarterback
Zack Drayer (Hershey, Pa./Hershey ) stepped up with a four-touchdown performance to lead the Red Flash.

Saint Francis totaled 323 yards of offense, including 225 passing and 98 rushing on the day.

Drayer completed 12-of-29 passes and connected with
Marcus Alston (Baltimore, Md./Mount St. Joseph),
Jordan Millberry (Harrisburg, Pa./Susquehanna Township) and
Kamron Lewis (Fresno, Calif./Edison) on touchdown passes and added another on the ground.Â

Lewis set a new career-high with 189 yards on eight catches, including a 19-yard touchdown catch. Millberry added a nine-yard touchdown grab, while Alston had a six-yard reception for a score.

Marcus Bagley (Cleveland Heights, Ohio/Cleveland Heights) had 69 yards on 24 carries, while
Avery Miliner (Clayton, Ohio/Northmont) added 25 yards on four carries.

Saint Francis allowed 400 yards of total offense to CCSU, only the second NEC opponent to gain over 300 yards against the Red Flash this year. Â CCSU threw for 318 yards and rushed for 82.Â

Safety
Hakeem Kinard (York, Pa./York Catholic) led the Red Flash with 10 tackles, including six solo and a sack, while
Malik Duncan (Cleveland, Ohio/Cleveland Central Catholic) and
Solomon Leaeno (Kapolei, Hawaii/James Campbell) each had eight stops, with Leaeno recording one tackle for loss and half a sack. Defensive end
Austin Gray (Egg Harbor Township, N.J. /Egg Harbor Township) had a tackle for loss, including half a sack, while
Sean Orsini (Imperial, Pa./West Allegheny) had six stops and two pass breakups and
Jalen Wells (Westerville, Ohio/Thomas Worthington) added five tackles and two breakups.Â
Zane Stewart (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg) recorded a sack.

CCSU quarterback Jacob Dolegala completed 25-of-38 passes for 318 yards and two scores,with Jose Garcia catching eight passes for 119 yards and a score, while Joey Fields had five catches for 81 yards and a touchdown. Cameron Nash ran for 81 yards on 13 carries. Dolegala also had a rushing touchdown.

On defense, Randall LaGuerre led the Blue Devils with 13 tackles, while Kenneth Keen had 10 and Chad Woodfine had two sacks.

Special teams also played a big role, with SFU recovering two muffed punts by CCSU to setup SFU in Blue Devil territory.

The Red Flash got on the board first on Millberry's nine-yard touchdown reception. After the SFU defense forced a three-and-out, SFU started at its 37. On the first play of the drive, Drayer hit Lewis over the middle for a 49-yard gain to the CCSU 14. Two plays later, Drayer connected with Millberry on a screen pass to the right, with Millberry finding plenty of space in front of him to get into the end zone.Â
Lance Geesey (Harrisburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley)'s extra point gave SFU a 7-0 lead with 12:50 left in the first quarter.

However, the Blue Devils answered with a 78-yard touchdown from by Garcia, off a screen pass by Dolegala. CCSU tied it at 7-7 with 11:26 to go in the first.

Saint Francis added a touchdown on a 19-yard throw from Drayer to Lewis with 4:34 left in the opening quarter. Lewis had a 19-yard catch earlier in the drive, while
Junior Ajayi (Delran, N.J./Holy Cross) had a key 17-yard gain on a 3rd-and-10 and Bagley added a 10-yard run to help setup the score.

The Red Flash extended its lead to 17-7 with 2:14 left in the first quarter on Geesey's 28-yard field goal. After forcing CCSU into a three-and-out, SFU started the possession at its own 36. On the first play of the drive, Drayer hit Lewis for a 50-yard gain to the CCSU 14.Â

Central Connecticut State cut the SFU lead to 17-14 with a 39-yard touchdown pass from Dolegala to Fields early in the second quarter.

However, SFU went into halftime with a 24-14 lead after a two-yard touchdown run by Drayer with 6:42 left in the second quarter. To setup the drive, CCSU muffed a punt, which was recovered by DaShaun Dixon-Roberts at the CCSU 25. After two runs by Bagley, a penalty on CCSU gave SFU a first down at the CCSU 11. An eight-yard scramble by Drayer setup SFU with 2nd and Goal at the 2. After being stopped on third down, SFU went for it on fourth down, with Drayer finding the end zone on a sneak.Â

Saint Francis scored early in the third quarter to push its lead to 31-14 with 11:47 left in the quarter. After another muffed punt reception by CCSU, this time recovered by
Alex Woicehovich (Macedonia, Ohio/Nordonia) on the CCSU 8, Drayer found a wide open Alston in the back of the end zone for a six-yard score and Alston's third touchdown reception of the season.

CCSU scored on a two-yard run by Dolegala with 1:59 to go in the game to cut the lead to 31-21.Â

However, SFU's
Jarren Williams (Lewis Center, Ohio/Olentangy) recovered the onside kick to seal the win and SFU's first ever NEC title.
