LORETTO, Pa. -
The Saint Francis men's basketball team finishes the regular season with a two-game road trip to Wagner and Sacred Heart this weekend. The Red Flash plays Wagner on Thursday night in a game webcast on ESPN3 and the Watch ESPN app. The Northeast Conference optioned this game to ESPN3 earlier in the week. Paul Dottino and Joe DeSantis have the call for the 7 p.m. tip-off.

Saint Francis will look to snap a three-game losing streak against the Seahawks after dropping a 94-89 decision in overtime against LIU Brooklyn on Senior Day last Saturday. Saint Francis has now lost six straight overtime games dating back to its last victory during the 2010-11 season. Saint Francis has won two in a row in games following an overtime game, however.

ABOUT WAGNER

Wagner sits alone atop the Northeast Conference standings at 11-5 after winning the final three games on a four-game road trip. After losing at LIU Brooklyn on Feb. 11, the Seahawks won at Bryant, Fairleigh Dickinson and Central Connecticut. A win for Wagner on Thursday would guarantee the Seahawks at least a share of the Northeast Conference regular season title.

Wagner is led by Corey Henson's 13.3 points per game. Michael Carey averages 11.6 points per game and 8.8 rebounds per game to lead the team. Dwaun Anderson is the third Seahawk in double figures at  10.3 points per game. Romone Saunders sits at 9.8 points per game.

SERIES HISTORY

Saint Francis leads the overall series, 34-32, but Wagner has won 13 of the past 17 meetings between the teams. The Flash did win the teams' first meeting this year, a 73-65 win on Jan. 2 in the NEC opener. Greg Brown (Odenton, Md./Archbishop Spalding) scored 19 points to lead five Red Flash players in double figures. SFU held Wagner to just 19 percent (4-for-21) from three-point range in the game, and it was the sixth win in the Flash's past seven NEC home openers.

NOTES FROM LIU BROOKLYN

  • The game was the second of the year for SFU in overtime (0-2).
  • Freshman Josh Nebo (Katy, Texas/Cypress Lakes) tied the school record with six blocked shots.
  • Nebo became the second Red Flash player to reach 50 blocks in a season.
  • Senior Ronnie Drinnon (Jamestown, Ohio/Greenview) posted a career-high 28 points.
  • Drinnon also had a career high with three made three pointers.
  • Drinnon surpassed the 900-point barrier and now sits with 920 career points.
  • Drinnon moved into 13th place on the school's all-time rebounding list with 757 career rebounds. He moved past Devin Sweetney (2006-10), who finished with 754 career rebounds.
  • Drinnon made 10 field goals to become the first SFU player with double-digit makes since Earl Brown (Philadelphia, Pa./Imhotep Charter) at Lehigh on Dec. 3, 2014.
  • Ben Millaud-Meunier (Montreal, Quebec/Vanier) hit four three pointers to move to 205 career three pointers. That surpassed Rahsaan Benton (2001-06) for third place on the school's career list.
  • Greg Brown (Odenton, Md./Archbishop Spalding) scored nine points to give him 804 career points.
  • Junior Malik Harmon (Queens, N.Y./Christ the King) had eight assists, just one shy of his career high.
  • Junior Georgios Angelou (Halkida, Greece/Lykeio Kanithou) recorded his second career double-digit scoring game with his 10 points.
  • LIU Brooklyn's made 37 field goals to become the first team since the Blackbirds in January 2012 to make 35 or more field goals in a game against the Red Flash.
  • LIU Brooklyn's Martin Hermannsson became the first opposing player to make 10 or more field goals against the Red Flash since Demetrius Jackson at Notre Dame in the season opener.

NEBO TIES SCHOOL RECORD

Freshman center Josh Nebo (Katy, Texas/Cypress Lakes) tied the school record for blocks in a single game with six against LIU Brooklyn. Nebo tied three other performances - two by Jerry Mack during the 1985-86 season and one by Melvin Scott in 1997. Nebo's six blocks give him 50 for the season. He is just the second player in school history to reach 50 blocks in a season. Scott was the first, finishing with 70 blocks in 2000-01.

TEAM CLOSING IN ON THREE POINTERS LIST

The Red Flash has made 196 three pointers this year, and the team will likely move into the top-five for most three pointers made in a season. The 2009-10 team is fifth on the list with 203 makes, and the all-time school record is 238 set by the NEC Championship team of 1990-91.

DRINNON AMONG BEST REBOUNDERS IN AMERICA

Senior Ronnie Drinnon (Jamestown, Ohio/Greenview) is not only climbing the school rebounding list, he's also one of the top rebounders in America in his final season. Drinnon's 16th double-double against LIU Brooklyn places him 12th in the NCAA in that category. He's 16th in the country in total rebounds (282) and in rebounds per game (10.4). He's also nationally ranked in offensive rebounds per game (24th) and defensive rebounds per game (30th). Drinnon surpassed Devin Sweetney for 13th place on Saturday, and he's now behind Norm Van Lier for 12th place. Van Lier had 769 rebounds from 1966-69. Drinnon has 757. Drinnon is also looking to become the first SFU player to average a double-double since current assistant coach Eric Taylor did it as a senior in 1997-98.

MILLAUD-MEUNIER ATOP NEC IN SEVERAL CATEGORIES

Senior Ben Millaud-Meunier (Montreal, Quebec/Vanier) is third in the NCAA in free throw shooting, converting 90.8 percent of his foul shot attempts. He also leads the NEC in several other stats. Milluad-Meunier is also the best in the NEC in total three pointers made (73), three pointers per game (2.7), and three-point field goal percentage (40.8). His 205 career three pointers are third all-time in SFU history. He 73 three pointers this season are fifth-most in school history.

A WIN ON THURSDAY WOULD...

A win for the Red Flash on Saturday would end a couple of streaks. Saint Francis would earn its 10th win in NEC play for the first time since going 10-8 in 2004-05. A win would also give the Flash its first win at Wagner since defeating the Seahawks, 68-61, during the 2005-06 season.

LOOKING AHEAD

Saint Francis plays at Sacred Heart on Saturday before playing in the NEC Tournament. Wagner finishes the regular season at home Saturday against Robert Morris before likely hosting an NEC Tournament quarterfinal game on Wednesday night.
