LORETTO, Pa. – The Saint Francis women's lacrosse team dropped a hard-fought game to the Wagner Seahawks, 15-11, on Senior Day at DeGol Field.

The women's lacrosse team honored seniors:
Lindsay Ingram (Stewartstown, Pa./York Catholic),
Christina Fini (Huntington, N.Y./Smithtown East),
Rebecca Meyer (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) and
Katie Schaaf (Ellicott City, Md./Hebron) in a pre-game ceremony.

The Flash finishes its 2016 season with a 4-12 record and 1-6 in the NEC. Â The Seahawks finish the regular season with an 8-8 overall record and 6-1 in the NEC.

Holly Lawrence (Damascus, Md./Damascus) led the Flash with four goals, added two ground balls and two draw controls.
Sarah Mahon (Malverne, N.Y./Kellenberg Memorial) recorded two goals and three ground balls.
Katie Schaaf (Ellicott City, Md./Hebron) recorded two assists and added a goal, while
Heather McKee (Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright Bel Air) made six saves in net.

Wagner opened the game with an early 4-0 lead. Saint Francis got on the board on a pair of free position goals from
Jessica Mazzur (Dallastown, Pa./York Catholic) and Lawrence to make the score 4-2.

The Seahawks answered with three more goals to take a 7-2 lead. Two goals from Lawrence jump-started a 4-0 run for the Flash.
Sydney Rowan (Rochester, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy) scored off a pass from Mazzur, which was followed by two goals from Lawrence and a free position goal from Mahon with 11 seconds left in the half. Â SFU would head into halftime trailing 7-6.

Mahon scored just two minutes into the second half to tie the score at 7-7.
Morgan Day (New Park, Pa. /Kennard Dale) found the back of the net just 16 seconds later to give the Flash the 8-7 advantage.

WC answered with six unanswered goals to take a 13-8 lead. Lawrence scored her team-leading 37th goal to pull the Flash within four at 13-9.

Wagner scored to retake a five-goal lead before
Jessica Fischetti (Massapequa, N.Y./Plainedge) scored to cut the deficit to 14-10. A goal by the Seahawks' Alexis Ferro would extend Wagner's lead to 15-10.

Schaaf scored the final goal of the game at the 1:15 mark.
