COLUMBUS, Ohio. - Â The Saint Francis men's volleyball team cruised to a 3-0 win over Barton College on Saturday night at St. John Arena. The Flash won the match 25-21, 25-23 and 25-19.
Saint Francis snapped a three-match losing streak and improves to 4-5, while Barton falls to 3-3.
Michael Fisher (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley (Pepperdine)) led the way for Saint Francis with 12 kills, three service aces and two blocks.

Daniel Ford (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North) added 34 assists and

Saint Francis opened the first set on a 4-0 run to lead 4-1. After a couple of attack errors, Barton would inch back to tie the set at 8-8. The Red Flash regained the lead at 11-9 after kills from Fisher and
Keith Kegerreis (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg). A Fisher service ace pushed the Red Flash lead to four at 14-10. Saint Francis would take its biggest lead of the match at 18-11, and would force Barton to burn a timeout. The Bulldogs would cut the Red Flash lead to 21-19 after a Bulldogs service ace. SFU answered with a 4-1 run to close out the set, 25-21.Â
The second set started as a back-and-forth affair, with SFU eventually pulling out to a 7-4 lead. A
Jeff Hogan (Northern Cambria, Pa./Northern Cambria) kill extended the Flash lead to 11-6. Barton cut the lead to 12-10 in favor of Saint Francis. The Flash used kills from Hogan, Fisher and
Stephen Braswell (Manchester, Pa./Northeastern)Â to take a 15-10 lead. The Bulldogs would come back to tie the set at 19-19 and 21-21. A Barton service error gave Saint Francis the second-set victory, 25-23.
The third set was not so tightly-contested. A Fisher kill opened the scoring for Saint Francis and never trailed. A Barton service error gave Saint Francis the 25-19 victory.
Saint Francis takes on in-state rival Penn State next Friday at 7 p.m. to open EIVA play.
