LORETTO, PA- Halee Adams (Hollidaysburg, Pa./Bishop Guilfoyle (Sienna)) career-high 22 points and five steals led four players in double figures and SFU improved to 3-1 in the NEC for the second-straight season after a 79-62 over St. Francis Brooklyn on Monday night at DeGol Arena.

SFU used a 24-5 run in the first half to break open a nip-and-tuck ball game. The Red Flash forced 10 first-quarter turnovers including eight steals and turned them into 14 points to help fuel the run. Harrison scored 13 of her 24 in the first quarter on 5-6 shooting. The Flash led 23-10 after the first quarter.

The Red Flash pushed the lead out to 21 in the second quarter as Adams started to heat up from three. She buried a pair from long range as the lead grew to 21 midway through the quarter. The defense kept up the pressure, forcing six more turnovers in the quarter. After the run, SFU never let the Terriers gain momentum in the first half, keeping the lead around 20 points throughout the remainder of the quarter. A late Jess Kovatch three put the Red Flash up 48-27 at the half. Kovatch finished with 12 points including three made threes. That gave the sophomore 152 in her career, moving her to fifth place in SFU history.

Katie Reese (Boonton Township, N.J./Mountain Lakes (Manhattan)) started to heat up in the third quarter, draining two threes of her own as the Flash lead hit its high-water mark at 27 just two minutes into the quarter. But the Terriers would not go quietly, they held the Flash scoreless over the next four minutes during a 13-0 run to cut the lead down to as little as 13. But the Flash consistently had an answer, Adams hit a clutch three to break the run and Kovatch followed with a three of her own to grow the lead back out to 16. SFU led 63-47 after three quarters.

The Terriers would get no closer than 14 in the fourth quarter as the teams traded baskets for much of the quarter. Adams prevented any thoughts of a comeback with seven of her 22 coming in the final quarter. Harrison added three steals and a pair of put backs to keep the SFU offense rolling. The Flash out scored the Terriers 15-5 in second-chance points on the night. Jill Scott put an exclamation point on the night with a step-back jumper in the final minutes. The freshman had a career high five points and added a pair of steals on Monday as SFU improved to 3-1 in conference for the second-straight season.

Maria Palarino led two Terriers in double figures with 17 while Samantha Keltos led SFBK with eight rebounds. Harrison had a game-high 24 points and nine rebounds while added six steals. Adams added five rebounds to go with her 22 points and five steals.
Katie Reese (Boonton Township, N.J./Mountain Lakes (Manhattan)) added 13 points and four assists while Kovatch added 12, five rebounds, three assists and two steals.

SFU got to the paint often on Monday, out scoring SFBK 26-20. They turned 28 Terrier turnovers into 28 points, including 19 on the fast break.
The win improved the Red Flash to 6-9 on the year and 3-1 in the NEC while St. Francis Brooklyn dropped to 4-11 overall and 2-2 in the NEC. It's back on the road for SFU this weekend as they make the short trip to Mount Saint Mary's on Saturday. Tip time from Knott Arena is set for 1 p.m.
