FAIRFAX, VA- Saint Francis wraps up the Women's NIT when they take on Old Dominion on Saturday afternoon at noon in a game played at Eagle Bank Arena at George Mason University.Â
ABOUT THE RED FLASH
Saint Francis comes into the meeting at 0-2 on the season, having dropped their first two games in the WNIT. They are coming off of an 82-50 setback to Southeast Missouri on Friday afternoon. SFU shot just 23 percent in the game, including just 1-16 in the first quarter. Saint Francis missed their first 11 shots and were chasing the Red hawks all game long. Caitlyn Kroll enjoyed a career day with 16 points and 10 rebounds. But the Red Flash never got on track offensively as they fell to 1-5 all time in the WNIT all time.Â
ABOUT THE MONARCHS
Old Dominion is also 0-2 on the season with losses at Liberty and George Mason to start the season. The Monarchs are a balanced team with two players averaging in double figures led by Ashley Jackson who went for 18 points in the loss to George Mason on Friday. They are also a team that slows it down, keeping the game in the 50s and 60s, so it will surely be a contrast of styles. The Monarchs are picked to finish 10th in Conference USA and this will be the second meeting between the teams. The teams met in the 1998 opening round in a 1/16 matchup won by the Monarchs 92-38.Â
