The Seawolves have tested themselves with a difficult non-conference slate featuring match-ups with power five schools Maryland, UConn and Michigan State. Despite the difficult schedule and 2-5 record, Stony Brook has only been outscored by -1.3 points per game over its first seven contests. A dangerous three-point shooting team, four regular rotation guys are shooting higher than 40.0% from beyond the arc and the team is shooting it at 39.9% from three. Senior Bryan Sekunda is the top threat from three at 46.7% (14-30). He had a big game against the Red Flash last season making five threes en route to 17 points. Akwasi Yeboah leads the team in scoring at 11.7 ppg followed by UC Iroegbu and Tyrell Sturdivant at 10.3 ppg.

Deivydas Kuzavas (Kretinga, Lithuania/St. Mary's Ryken (Md.)) put in the best offensive performance by a Saint Francis starting five in decades. All five players scored at least 15 points and the unit accounted for 87 total points, the most by an SFU starting lineup since 89 in a 100-94 win over Delaware St. on Dec. 15, 1990. Former Red Flash greats Mike Iuzzolino and Joe Anderson combined for 49 that night. WOLFORD HUNTING HIS SHOT
The aforementioned Wolford continues to surge, averaging 15.0 ppg over his last three games after scoring just three total points in the first three games of the season. He is 11-for-19 from three-point range on the season (57.9%) and 11-of-17 over the last three games (64.7%).
FREE IS GOOD
Saint Francis is taking full advantage of its opportunities from the free-throw line this season. The Red Flash hit 18-of-20 (90.0%) from the line in Wednesday's win at American and are shooting 77.7% for the season, good for the 32nd best mark in the country. All eight of the players who have attempted at least eight shots from the foul line are shooting above 70.0%. The Red Flash shot 69.2% from the line in 2016-17.
