LORETTO, PA- Ace Harrison (Baltimore, MD/Digital Harbor (Maryland))'s career day was not enough as Wagner placed four players in double figures and shot 53 percent for the game and handed SFU its second-straight loss, 87-71 on Monday night.

Harrison scored 25 points grabbed 16 rebounds and eight steals for the Red Flash who couldn't overcome their second-straight off shooting night and fell to 13-12 overall and 10-4 in the Northeast Conference. Saint Francis shot 29 percent overall (24-83) ,18 percent from three (9-49), and just 52 percent (14-27) from the foul line in the defeat. The Seahawks overcame 31 turnovers and shot 53 percent for the game, placing four players in double figures.

Katie Reese (Boonton Township, N.J./Mountain Lakes (Manhattan)) hit a three to start the Flash off quickly, but things cooled off quickly on Monday. After Reese's three, the Flash were held to just one field goal over the next four minutes as Wagner built a six-point lead. Saint Francis would get things going as Jill Scott hit a three and Jessica Kovatch (Phillipsburg, N.J./Phillipsburg) added an old-fashioned three point play but settled for trading baskets with the Seahawks who shot 63 percent in the first quarter. Wagner led 24-21 after the opening quarter.

Saint Francis would get the game within one on a pair of occasions in the second quarter but Wagner continually had an answer. A 6-0 run pushed their lead out to seven and grew to double digits as the Flash went stagnant from the field. SFU scored just two points over the final five minutes of the quarter as Wagner finished the frame on a 15-2 run to lead 45-30 at the break. The three point shot eluded the Red Flash for the second straight game as they went 4-29 (14 percent) and 1-17 (6 percent) in the second quarter.

The second half started as a carbon copy of the first, with Reese hitting a three to get the scoring started. The senior backed it up with a second three to spring a 6-0 run, close the gap to 9 and force a Wagner timeout. SFU would get the game to single digits on a pair of occasions but a 9-0 run by Wagner followed and stretched the deficit out to 18. It would peak at 20 as Tanasia Russell beat the buzzer with a jump shot to give Wagner a 66-46 lead heading into the fourth.

Ace Harrison (Baltimore, MD/Digital Harbor (Maryland)) tried to jump start a comeback with a pair of steal-and-scores to start the fourth quarter. Harrison matched her career-high with 25 points and 8 steals while also recording a game-high 16 rebounds. The Red Flash would force 31 turnovers on Monday, leading to 33 points, including 10 turnovers in the fourth. The attacking Red Flash defense held Wagner to just two points in the first three minutes of the quarter, cutting the lead to 11. The Flash would get as close as nine, but the attacking defense put the Seahawks at the foul line. Wagner scored 15 of their 21 fourth quarter points from the charity stripe and were a solid 31-42 from the line on Monday. The Red Flash would again go cold from the field, scoring just a pair of free throws over the final two minutes as Wagner salted the game away from the line.

Kerstie Phills recorded her second-straight double-double with 20 points and 16 rebounds while also recording five steals. Wagner had three players go for at least 20: Russell (22), Phills (20), and Corinn Baggs (20). Harrison led SFU with 25 while Jessica Kovatch (Phillipsburg, N.J./Phillipsburg) added 19 points and 7 rebounds and Katie Reese (Boonton Township, N.J./Mountain Lakes (Manhattan)) chipped in 15 points and three steals. Wagner won the rebounding battle 47-40 but SFU held a 15-8 edge on second-chance points and a 33-13 edge in points off turnovers.

The loss drops SFU to 13-12 overall and 10-4 in the NEC, a game back of Sacred Heart and Robert Morris for the top spot in the league. Wagner moves to 4-21 overall and 3-11 in the NEC. The Red Flash hit the road this weekend and will look to snap their two-game slide on Saturday when they take on the Bryant Bulldogs. Tip time from the Chase Center in Smithfield, Rhode Island is set for 1 p.m.
