ERIE, PA- Saint Francis is back on the road this weekend to take part in four matches at the Mercyhurst Invite.

ABOUT THE FLASH
Saint Francis is 2-2 on the season after opening their home season on Friday against George Washington. The Flash stormed back in the second half but a late Colonial goal sealed a 10-7 win for GW.
Kelsey Gring (Sinking Spring, Pa/Wilson) recorded a hat trick and
Emily Wickenheiser (Mechanicsburg, Pa/Cumberland Valley) added two goals and two assists as they paced the offense.
Lani Merrill (San Clemente, Calif. /San Clemente (Saddleback College)) lead the defense, recording three steals while Katie Wilke continued her strong start in goal with 10 saves. Through four games, Wilke is averaging 10 saves per match while the Red Flash offense is averaging just over nine goals per game.

ABOUT GROVE CITY
The Wolverines will open the season with the Red Flash at 3 p.m. on Saturday. Grove City is coming off a season where they went 8-15 including a 6-9 mark in the CWPA Division III. Attacker Abby Jank is the player to watch for the Wolverines, after posting several multi-goal games last season, she will be a relied upon veteran.

The Keydets opened up their season with a win over Gannon at the Mercyhurst Invite and went 8-19 overall and 3-9 in the MAAC last season. Junior Shelby Barkley is the leading returning scorer for VMI posting 65 goals and 84 points last season. She will be flanked by classmate Natalie Rivas who led the team with 89 points last season including a team-best 36 assists. Caitie Berry is the lone returning goalie, starting nine matches last season. Berry struggled to a 1-9 record and a 12.01 goals against average.

ABOUT GANNON
Gannon is off to a 0-5 start this season, having gone winless at the Bucknell Invite. Through the opening weekend, Allison Cooney led a balanced offense with six goals but six different players recorded at least two points over the four matches. Emily Rodriguez got all four starts in goal but split time with Isabelle Vieira. The two have played to a 31.1 save percentage and a goals against average of 11.62.

ABOUT SIENA
The Saints will open their season at the Invite and are coming off a 3-23 season and 1-11 in the MAAC. Clare Bryar returns for the Saints as their leading scorer, tallying 47 goals and 63 points a season ago. The Saint graduated their next three leading scorers and will look to their three freshman attackers to fill the void. All three goalies for the Saints are back for this season with Carly Jackson-Clark getting the majority of the starts with 18. She recorded all three wins last year and played to a 40.1 save percentage and a 13.57 goals against average.

LOOKING AHEAD
Saint Francis will head west next week to take part in a pair of tournaments and eight matches total in California. Up first is the Tina Finali Invite where the Flash will take on Occidental next Sunday with a 3:45 eastern time opening sprint.
