ABOUT THE KNIGHTS
FDU is coming off a pair of tough overtime losses, including 68-60 on Monday night at Sacred Heart. The losses place FDU at 6-10 in the Northeast Conference and they currently sit in seventh place in the standings. The Knights bring a balanced one-two punch of Brianna Thomas and Madelynn Comly who each average around 11 points per game. Amina Markovic leads the team at over seven rebounds per game. SFU did not have an answer for her in the first meeting as she went for a career-best 32 points and 11 rebounds. The Red Flash will try to limit FDU's inside scoring as the Knights shoot just 27 percent from three-point range with Comly the leading shooter at just over 31 percent from three. In the first match-up FDU forced 20 Red Flash turnovers and netted 27 points off the miscues, for the season they are forcing 16 turnovers per game and netting 16 points off the mistakes.Â
WHAT'S AT STAKE?
Both teams have clinched spots in the 2017 NEC Tournament with seeding implications up for grabs over the final two games. Saint Francis still has an outside chance to claim the top spot but needs help. The Red Flash can fall anywhere between first and fifth place depending on the results. FDU can place anywhere between sixth and eighth in the tournament that will begin at host sites next Sunday.Â
