LORETTO, PA- The Saint Francis Red Flash earned the three-seed in the 2017 Northeast Conference Tournament and will take on sixth-seeded Central Connecticut for the second-straight year on Sunday at 2 p.m. in the NEC Quarterfinals.

ABOUT THE RED FLASH
Saint Francis has rebounded nicely after a three-game slide to win the final three games of the regular season to finish 13-5 in Northeast Conference play. The 13-wins marks the 12th time SFU has won at least 13 games in NEC play, but just the second time in the last 10 seasons. The Red Flash started their three-game surge with a 72-70 win at Central back on February 20th. In that game, the Red Flash had 16 steals including 11 by Ace Harrison (Baltimore, MD/Digital Harbor (Maryland)), which stands as the most in an NCAA game this season.

Saint Francis defeated Sacred Heart 83-69 on Monday night to move into a tie with the Pioneers for second in the NEC but are the third-seed based on tie breakers. SFU topped 50 percent shooting for the first time this season, hitting 52 percent of their shots (31-60). Jessica Kovatch (Phillipsburg, N.J./Phillipsburg) led the offense with 35 points, the third time this season she has topped 30 while also recording six steals. Katie Reese (Boonton Township, N.J./Mountain Lakes (Manhattan)) continued her torrid end to the regular season with 24 points on Monday. The senior has averaged 22 points, 6 rebounds and 4.5 assists over the three-game win streak on 50 percent shooting and 58 percent shooting from three.

ABOUT THE BLUE DEVILS
Central Connecticut fell 70-64 to Bryant on Monday night to move to 9-9 in NEC play. Cebria Outlow came off the bench for 17 points for the Blue Devils. The freshman had 21 for CCSU the last time the Blue Devils played the Red Flash. Giocelis Reynoso averages close to nine rebounds per game but has averaged 15.5 boards in the two matchups against SFU. Overall, Aleah Epps and Kiana Patterson lead the offense at nearly 12 points per game for CCSU, Patterson has upped her average to 16 points per game against the Red Flash. The Red Flash will look to turn over the Blue Devils, who average 16 turnovers per contest. The Flash forced 27 in New Britain back on February 20th, leading to 26 points. The Red Flash will look to slow down the CCSU transition game, SFU turned it over just 10 times last meeting but the Blue Devils turned those miscues into 18 points.
