Red Flash Head to Brown for CWPA Weekend

Providence, RI- Saint Francis wraps up regular-season conference play this weekend with a four-pack of games on Friday and Saturday at Brown University.
 
The Red Flash will take on #17 Hartwick and #14 Indiana on Friday and #20 Harvard and host Brown on Saturday.
 
Saint Francis comes into the weekend at 10-15 overall and 0-4 in CWPA play. Emily Wickenheiser (Mechanicsburg, Pa/Cumberland Valley) continues to lead the Red Flash, tallying 78 goals, 95 points and counting this season. SFU sports a pair of 50-plus goal scorers as Kelly Fehr (Erie, Pa/Villa Maria Academy) is second on the team with 54 goals and 62 points. Defensively, the Red Flash are averaging close to 10 steals per game as seven different players have at least 25 steals this season. In goal, Kate Wilke (Burbank, Calif./Burroughs) has made 214 saves to date and sports a solid 9.76 goals against average.
 
ABOUT THE HAWKS
Hartwick comes into the weekend at 19-8 on the year and 2-2 in the CWPA. Hartwick defeated Bucknell earlier in the year and knocked off George Washington last weekend at home and fell to Michigan and Princeton at home last weekend as well. Each of the eight losses have come against ranked opponents. The Hawks sport a potent attack led by Zsofia Polak who leads the team with 72 goals and 114 points. Lena Kotanchyan is second on the team with 66 goals and 94 points, giving Hartwick a one-two punch. Tori Wilson is third on the team with 41 goals as the Hawks have five twenty-plus goal scorers. Defensively, Kotanchyan leads the team with 52 steals. In goal, the Hawks have three net minders who have seen substantial time, led by Josette Santos who has 21 starts. Collectively, the Hawks have a 9.94 goals against average.
 
 
ABOUT THE HOOSIERS
Indiana comes into the match at 15-8 on the season and 2-2 in the CWPA. Like the Hawks, Indiana has defeated GW and Bucknell while falling to Michigan and Princeton. Each one of Indiana's losses have come to ranked teams and the Hoosiers do sport a win over then #6 Hawaii earlier in the year. To date, Kelly Matthews leads the team with 37 goals and 52 points leading a Hoosier offense that has four 20-plus goal scorers. Like the Flash, Indiana has forced a good deal of turnovers with five players recording at least 20 steals this season. The Hoosiers are a strong defensive team with Jessica Gaudreault posting a 6.98 goals against average and a save percentage over 60 percent.
 
ABOUT THE CRIMSON
Harvard enters the weekend at 13-10 on the year and 3-2 in the CWPA.  The Crimson defeated Brown, Bucknell, and GW while falling to Michigan and Princeton. Kristen Hong leads a balanced offense as the sophomore has 40 goals and 54 points on the year. Hong leads four players with at least 25 goals on the season. In goal, Harvard has two goalies that have seen significant time, Cleo Harrington has gotten the majority of time in net, recording 129 saves to date.
 
ABOUT THE BEARS
Brown enters their host weekend at 18-6 on the year and 2-3 in CWPA play. Brown defeated Bucknell and GW while falling to Harvard, Michigan and Princeton.  Brown brings another balanced attack to the pool on Saturday, with four 40-plus goal scorers and a fifth with 34 tallies. Junior Jessica Heilmann leads the team with 61 goals so far this season. The Bears have four goalies listed on the roster with Marisol Dakan getting the majority of playing time, the junior posted a .627 save percentage last season. Saturday's match will be Brown's senior day where the Bears will honor eight seniors prior to the match.

The Red Flash will head to Indiana on April 28th for the CWPA tournament. Match times and opponents are still to be determined.
