PROVIDENCE, RI- The Red Flash wrapped up their regular season with a pair of matches at Brown University on Saturday, falling to #20 Harvard 14-3 and Brown 9-3.

HARVARD MATCH
The Red Flash opened Saturday's play against the #20 Harvard Crimson, falling 14-3. Harvard struck first, scoring the first two goals of the game. The Crimson capitalized on their first possession, scoring just after an exclusion on
Kelsey Gring (Sinking Spring, Pa/Wilson) had expired. The Crimson made it 2-0, scoring in transition off a defensive stop on SFU's opening possession, prompting a timeout by the Red Flash.
Kelly Fehr (Erie, Pa/Villa Maria Academy) would draw a pair of exclusions in the first quarter and it was on the second one that the Red Flash got on the board, as Fehr converted on the power play, scoring off a Tina Bonilla pass.
Kate Wilke (Burbank, Calif./Burroughs) would make four saves in the quarter and record a steal to lead the defense as SFU trailed 2-1 after the first quarter.

Emily Wickenheiser (Mechanicsburg, Pa/Cumberland Valley) hit the post on the opening possession of the second quarter, narrowly preventing SFU from tying the game. Harvard responded with their third tally of the game and never looked back. Cleo Harrington stopped SFU on an exclusion and a bevy of shots and Harvard scored six unanswered goals to lead 8-1 at the half. Harrington would stop Fehr again at the start of the third quarter and made it 9-1 off the ensuing transition break. The SFU power play was clicking against the Crimson as Wickenheiser scored a power play tally off a Fehr drawn exclusion for the Red Flash's second tally of the game. Later in the quarter,
Amber Rogers (Souderton, Pa/Souderton) would fire home a Erin O'neill pass to round out SFU's scoring.
Harvard outshot the Flash 30-16 in the game and
Kate Wilke (Burbank, Calif./Burroughs) led the way with 10 saves and a pair of steals. Tina Bonilla led the offense with a pair of assists as Fehr, Wickenheiser and Rogers scored for the Red Flash.

BROWN MATCH
The Bears scored on their opening possession in the nightcap to grab the early lead. After
Kelly Fehr (Erie, Pa/Villa Maria Academy) was stopped on a shot,
Kate Wilke (Burbank, Calif./Burroughs) stoned Brown on a pair of attempts to keep it a one-goal game. The Flash earned a power play after Fehr drew an exclusion but couldn't convert as Marisol Dakan made a save and was credited with a steal. Wickenheiser was then excluded and the Bears capitalized on the power play to make it 2-0 Bears in the first. Brown would lead 2-0 after the opening eight minutes. The Bears would again score early in the quarter, making it 3-0 on the opening possession of the second quarter. Wilke kept it 3-0 with a save on a Brown power play and SFU kept their power play rolling with a goal by
Kelly Fehr (Erie, Pa/Villa Maria Academy) after the freshman had drawn the penalty. Brown would answer with two goals over their next three possessions to lead 5-1 before Wickenheiser scored to make it 5-2 late in the half. It would be 5-2 at the break.
Brown would stretch the lead out to 7-2 with a pair of early goals in the third, including a power play tally. Dakan kept SFU off the scoreboard with a trio of saves in the early stages, she ended with 11 saves in the game. Wilke ended the day with 14 saves, and one midway through the third sparked a transition where Wickenheiser pumped in her second of the game to make it 7-3. Dakan would make four more saves in the final quarter to keep the SFU offense at bay as Brown added two insurance goals.
Brown outshot SFU 28-17 and both goalies were stalwarts in net with both keepers recording double digit saves. Wilke added two saves to help lead the defense.

The Red Flash now sit at 10-19 on the season. They will next head to the CWPA tournament hosted by Indiana. The three-day tourney starts on April 28
th.
