LORETTO, PA- Saint Francis had its most efficient offensive night of the season, hitting .340 as a team in a three-set sweep of Bucknell to cap off the first night of the Red Flash Classic.

Saint Francis got 18 kills from
Emily Marcinowski (Strongsville, Ohio/Padua Franciscan) and 16 from
Kelsey Roush (Johnstown, Pa./Richland) in a 25-21, 25-23, 25-20 sweep of the Bison to move to 5-6 on the season.

 "I liked the way we finished on offense tonight," head coach
Sara McMullen said. "Em (Marcinowski) and Kelsey (Roush) were big for us tonight. I thought across the board it was a great effort and we got timely hitting from a lot of players."

SET ONE RECAP
- Saint Francis broke open a 3-3 tie with four-straight points to force a Bucknell timeout
- SFU would never relinquish the lead after that run in the start of the set
- An Emily Pieper (Paonia, Colo./Paonia) kill stopped a Bucknell run that had drawn the Bison within one at 16-15, they would get no closer in the first set
- The Red Flash would put the set out of reach with a four-point spurt fueled by an Amelia Metzler (Littleton, Colo./Chatfield) ace and a combo block from Ceceilia Esposito and Metzler

- SFU erased an early 3-1 Bucknell lead, using two Marcinowski kills to tie the match at five
- The Red Flash defense then forced three-straight attack errors to go up 9-5 and force a Bucknell timeout
- Saint Francis would lead by as many as seven in the set (14-7) and withstood a Bucknell rally that tied the match at 19
- Two key kills by Alexis Lambert (McKinney, Tx./McKinney-Boyd) and Kelsey Roush (Johnstown, Pa./Richland) broke up a 21-21 tie

- Three kills by Roush in a five-point run for the Flash broke open a 5-5 tie and staked SFU to a 10-5 lead
- The Bison made it a game of runs with a 6-2 spurt to tie the match at 13
- SFU's defense forced a pair of attack errors and got two kills from Roush in a 5-1 stretch to take a 20-16 lead
- A pair of Marcinowski kills finished off the set and the match for SFU at 25-20
