LORETTO, PA- The Saint Francis Red Flash got a huge performance from
Kelsey Roush (Johnstown, Pa./Richland) (20 kills, .462 hit percentage, 4 aces) in a three set sweep of the Fairleigh Dickinson Knights on Friday night inside DeGol Arena.Â
The Red Flash knocked off the Knights 25-18, 25-17, 25-21 to improve to 7-8 overall and 1-1 in the Northeast Conference.Â

FIRST SET RECAP
- Kelsey Roush (Johnstown, Pa./Richland)Â got off to a hot start in the first set with nine of her 20 kills coming in the opening stanza
- SFU scored the first three points of the match and seven of the first 10, paced by two Roush kills and a Roush ace
- SFU maintained a lead after the quick start, never letting FDU get closer than two points
- Three more Roush kills forced an SFU timeout as the Red Flash began to pull away late and led by as many as eight at 24-16
- FDU staved off a pair of set points before Roush's ninth kill of the set gave SFU a 25-18 first set win
SECOND SET RECAP
- Balance was the key to the second set as five different players had at least two kills for SFU
- The Red Flash got off to another quick start, scoring the first four points of the set on a pair of Amelia Metzler (Littleton, Colo./Chatfield) aces
- SFU kept pouring it on early, a pair of combo blocks and a trio of Emily Marcinowski (Strongsville, Ohio/Padua Franciscan) kills made it 11-3 in favor of the Red Flash
- Saint Francis led by as many as 10 in the second, doing so on a pair of occasions (16-6, 20-10)
- The Knights reeled off four-straight points late in the set before an Emily Pieper (Paonia, Colo./Paonia) kill ended the run and put SFU on the second set doorstep
- Lauren Williams (Reno, Nev./Damonte Ranch) had two timely kills in the match, her first ended the second set, 25-17 in SFU's favor
THIRD SET RECAP
- It was FDU's turn to get off to a quick start, grabbing a 7-4 lead on a pair of Taylor Wyckoff kills, she led FDU with 10 kills on Friday
- The Red Flash rallied back, tying the match at nine on a trio of Roush kills
- The Flash took control of the set on Roush's serve, she had three aces in a four serve span that gave SFU a 15-10 lead and forced a FDU timeout
- SFU never let FDU back in the set after the run, the Knights never got withing two points the rest of the way
- The Knights rallied to pull with 23-21 but a pair of Roush kills put the match away
