Lou Henson Mid-Season Watch List

BOSTON - Sophomore Keith Braxton (Glassboro, N.J./The Lawrenceville School) was one of just nine underclassmen to be named to the Lou Henson Award Mid-Season Watch List, the organization announced Thursday. 

The Lou Henson Award is presented annually to the nation's top Division I mid-major player. 

Thursday's list recognized the top 40 mid-major players in the country. Braxton joined Wagner's Blake Francis and Mount St. Mary's Junior Robinson as the only other players from the Northeast Conference on the list.

Players on teams from the following conferences are eligible for the award: America East, Atlantic Sun, Big Sky, Big South, Big West, Colonial, Horizon, Independents, Ivy, Metro Atlantic, Mid-American, Mid-Eastern, Missouri Valley, Northeast, Ohio Valley, Patriot, Southern, Southland, Southwestern, Summit, Sun Belt, West Coast.

Past recipients of the award include Justin Robinson (Monmouth), Thomas Walkup (Stephen F. Austin), Ty Greene (USC Upstate), Langston Hall (Mercer), Matthew Dellavedova (Saint Mary's), Kyle O'Quinn (Norfolk State), Matt Howard (Butler) and Keith Benson (Oakland).

The organization will whittle down a list of finalists at the end of the season and the 2017-18 Lou Henson National Player of the Year Award will be announced on March 31, 2018 at the CollegeInsider.com Awards Event in San Antonio, site of the men's NCAA Basketball Championship.
