SFU pulls away for 73-60 victory

BOX SCORE Loretto, Pa. - The Saint Francis men's basketball team (11-8, 5-3 NEC) ended its game at Sacred Heart (7-14, 2-6 NEC) on Saturday on an 18-5 run to pull away for a 73-60 victory. Junior guard Jamaal King (Salisbury, Md./Bishop O'Connell (Va.)) led the way with 21 points followed by junior Andre Wolford (Willowick, Ohio/Saint Ignatius) with 17. Sophomore Keith Braxton (Glassboro, N.J./The Lawrenceville School) finished with 15 points and nine rebounds.

Krimmel's Reaction

"We challenged this group a little bit and I am happy with the response," said head coach Rob Krimmel. "Our staff did a tremendous job preparing these guys and they rolled up their sleeves and got stops down the stretch. It's a good win and now we return home for a three-game homestand.

Turning Point

Wolford broke a 55-55 tie with a three-pointer with 7:42 to play. The sharpshooter entered the game 6th in the country in three-point shooting and knocked down 3-of-4 from deep for the game. King followed with a bucket and freshman Mark Flagg (Fairless Hills, Pa./Pennsbury), who finished with eight points and five rebounds, scored the next four as SFU went up 64-55.
