BOX SCORE Moon Township, Pa. - The Saint Francis women's soccer team (5-7-3, 3-1-1 NEC) lost its first NEC match in its last nine games, falling at Robert Morris (4-11, 2-3 NEC) 2-0 on Saturday.
Turning Point
The Colonials scored two goals in the final seven minutes of the first half to turn a tightly-contested match into a big deficit by halftime.
Highlights
- Senior Sara Suler (Hermitage, Pa./Hickory)Â nearly sprung freshman Leanna Choo (Germantown, Md./Northwest)Â in on goal in the match's early stages but the freshman couldn't get her first touch out of her feet causing the threat to be cleared.
- Robert Morris came inches away from the game's first goal in the 12th minute but Jane Schleicher rang her shot off the post.
- The Colonials pounced on an SFU turnover in the 30th minute but were turned away by a breakaway save by redshirt junior Julia Hernan (Collegeville, Pa./The Hill School).
- Robert Morris scored in the 39th minute when Chelsea Kingston was unaccounted for in the box and slotted home the opportunity.
- Schleicher doubled the lead in the 42nd minute after an SFU defender slipped. She was able to beat Hernan from eight yards out.
- SFU generated a few opportunities in the second half but couldn't find a goal. The closest chance was generated from a cross by Choo but it couldn't connect with junior Abigail Tarosky (North Huntington, Pa./Norwin).

- Coming into the match, SFU's unbeaten streak vs. conference opponents dated back to last season. Ironically, it was the same date, an Oct. 13 loss at CCSU.
- Saint Francis is just 1-6-2 on the road this season.
