Saint Francis falters down the stretch in 78-64 defeat to Boise State

Seattle, Wash. – Saint Francis women's basketball (2-7) got out to a fast start, but was unable to hold off a strong Boise State squad as the Red Flash fell to the Broncos, 78-64, on Saturday in the Husky Classic at Alaska Airlines Arena. Jess Kovatch (Phillipsburg, N.J./Phillipsburg) led SFU with a season-high 24 points, while Karson Swogger (Bellwood, PA/Bellwood-Antis) added 14 points and a career-high nine rebounds.

First Quarter Recap
  • Saint Francis had a strong start as Kovatch scored five of the Red Flash's first seven points as SFU trailed 9-7 in the opening minutes
  • AJ Timbers' (Philadelphia, PA/Neumann Gorretti (Towson)) converted on a three-pointer to tie the game 13-13 with 3:25 to play
