Searching for Stops
It was a rough week defensively for the Red Flash as Saint Francis allowed American (60.7%) and Delaware (57.6%) to shoot a combined 59.1% from the floor. The two shooting percentages were the best against Saint Francis this season. In six seasons as the head coach,
Rob Krimmel had never had an opposing player score 33 or more points against him. The streak was snapped as it happened in both games last week. American's Sam Iorio and Delaware's Eric Carter each finished with 33.
The Big Three
Saint Francis will look for scoring help outside of its top three scorers this week. Senior
Jamaal King (Salisbury, Md./Bishop O'Connell (Va.)), redshirt junior
Isaiah Blackmon (Charlotte, N.C./West Charlotte) and junior
Keith Braxton (Glassboro, N.J./Delsea) have shouldered most of the load, particularly over the last three games. In losses at American and Delaware last week, the trio combined to average 57 of SFU's 82.5 points per game. King, Braxton and Blackmon shot 50.6% from the field and 45.2% from three-point range while the rest of the team was just 41.9% from the field and 27.2% from three.
