Saint Francis hosts FGCU on Wednesday on Toys for Tots day

Loretto, Pa. - The Saint Francis women's basketball team (2-4) hosts Florida Gulf Coast on Wednesday on Toys for Tots day. Any fan who brings in a toy will receive free admisison to the game. Tip time at DeGol Arena is set for 7 p.m.

Scouting Florida Gulf Coast

Florida Gulf Coast runs a similar high-flying offense to Saint Francis as the Eagles rank third in the nation with 11.4 three-pointers per game. FGCU has a trio of sharpshooters with reigning Atlantic Sun Player of the Week Chandler Ryan leading the way from behind the arc with 2.6 treys per game, while Nasrin Ulel is averaging 2.3 triples per contest. Keri Jewett-Giles is the team's leading scorer with 15.7 ppg, including 2.0 three-pointers per clip.

The Eagles are 5-2 on the season and are riding a three-game winning streak with victories over American and Hawaii at the Rainbow Wahine Showdown in Honolulu followed by a win over Houston last Wednesday in Fort Myers, Fla.

Red Flash lighting up the scoreboard

Saint Francis is coming off its highest scoring output of the season with Saturday's 91-88 win over Longwood. Senior guard Jess Kovatch (Phillipsburg, N.J./Phillipsburg) connected on five trifectas as she continues to prove why she is the NEC's all-time leader in career three-pointers with 369 and counting. The Red Flash rank fourth in the country with 11.3 three-pointers per game.

Morrow making an increased impact

Sophomore guard Leah Morrow (Columbus, Ohio/Columbus Africentric) has taken on a bigger role for the Red Flash as the season has progressed. She scored 12 points against Longwood on Saturday, including shooting 8-of-10 from the free throw line. Morrow had three of the team's eight steals against the Lancers and leads SFU with 11 takeaways this season.

Swogger developing into consistent scoring threat

Sophomore guard Karson Swogger (Bellwood, PA/Bellwood-Antis) has established herself as a valuable scoring option for the Red Flash. She had 17 points against Longwood, following a season-high 21 point outburst against Duquesne. Swogger paces SFU in shooting from the floor with a .469 field goal percentage.

Facing the Eagles

Wednesday's game will be only the second meeting all-time between the two schools with FGCU winning the previous contest, 75-68, on December 20, 2013.
